Very helpful and quickly found bikes suitable for 74 , 40 and 11yr old. We cycled 20 mile round trip to Instow along Tarka trail much to our delight . Plenty room to leave car as Waterside Bikes is on an Industrial Est but right by Tarka trail Definitely a highlight of our holiday

Great service from the team. Give them a call in advance or book online to guarantee bike availability. Recommended. Good quality bikes, with a nice mix of e-bikes, hybrid, Dutch style, mountain and child bikes. Mix of Raleigh, Squish, Lapierre ... They also have helmets and bike locks available. Knowledgeable staff will set the bikes up perfectly for you and can advise on routes to take and locations you're likely to reach. We rode along the Tarka Trail, perfect for a family ride, good surfaced path, easy to follow and mostly flat. Handy cafe of the same name just round the corner, for lunch before our snacks after.

There were 4 of us - 2 couples. My wife had an ebike and the rest of us had hybrids. The service and bicycles were excellent and the and cycling experience was very nice with. We had a really great experience hiring bikes from these guys today. We’re not regular riders and with 2 kids who aren’t experienced. They fitted us quickly, helped us with a route and were really friendly. We had a wonderful few hours taking in the views. Really recommend!

Very friendly service took time to size the right bikes for our mixed group of Adults,teenagers 2 over 6ft tall and a novice child.highly recommend the E bike especially for someone who isn't an experienced rider and is part of a group who want to go and do a few hours on the Tarka trail as it meant she could Keep up and zoom past the others Which kept her engaged with the ride and meant we could stay out longer.good selection of mountain,hybrid and E bikes would definitely recommend picking up the Tarka trail from here as it's Safe and easy to join the trail without going on any road so ideal for young children or inexperienced road rider's.thank you for making our day as we had a disaster with our own bikes,the teenager forgot to bring the bike lock key to unlock the bike's from the car carrier so we had to hire bikes for all,this was no trouble and we all had a Great afternoon from 1.30 to 5pm including the dog who ran alongside with us 👍 would definitely come back here.

Great place to hire bikes from, park up and enjoy the Tarka Trail. Follow signs through the gated industrial site. Hired a bike for my wife, found and adjusted a lovely Romet Stepover. Set off for traffic free cycle to Bideford. Great choice of bikes, kids, trailers etc Left the car parked up there (bonus) Many thanks to the chaps there, really pleasant and helpful (allowed us to shorten our hire since the weather had gone poor). The tarka trail is ideal for a family cycle. Flat smooth surface, no hills other than bridge - Bideford is about 12mls. Bring a padlock so you can lock up at the station and stretch your legs. Keep up the superb service Chaps, hope it's a real success for you.

Hired a bike from here, very friendly service, with a great bike supplied. Free parking to park your car for the day, right next to the Tarka trail. We biked into Instow, a little village with some lovely sandy beaches and great pubs to eat and drink at. We had a 7 and 8 year old with us, we biked from the hire shop @10am, into Instow, had a Sunday roast with drinks, then biked back and arrived back at the hire shop at around 4pm great service, good quality bikes hired

We rented bikes from Waterside Bike Hire recently and the whole process was seamless. Simple online booking system and we picked the bikes up the next day, they offered us different types depending on how we wanted to ride, we chose the more casual models that were perfect for a leisurely ride. The views along the trail are stunning, so much wildlife to see also. Thanks for your professionalism and an easy pick up and drop off guys!

I was very unsure I would be able to ride a bike due to a disc issue; however the level of friendly service we had, encouragement and consideration was enough to make me give it a go. I had one of the electric bikes and 3 1/2 hours later we had enjoyed a stretch of the Tarka Trail. Fantastic weather, cloudy after rain and it was one of the best days out we had. Will become an annual part of our holiday in the area without a doubt and can recommend this business highly.
